Power of Commitment

"What you would hide is hidden from you."
~ ACIM
Namaste Megan,

In yogic philosophy, our practice, regardless of what it is, style, lineage, or time spent, is intended to help us connect to our Self, Spirit, and Oneness with All.

Knowing, believing, or have a direct experience, like I have, that we are inseparable from the universe, our practice can help us realize this Oneness.

Commitment to our practice brings us in to greater alignment with our Self and all those around us.

We all may take different approaches and methods to have this experience, and those of us who have felt the benefits of a consistent practice find it easier to be calm, grounded and conscious.

Commitment keeps us connected to our Truth.

So if you:

Want to be disciplined? Practice discipline.
Want to be happy? Practice happiness.
Want to be forgiven? Practice forgiveness.
Want to be met with kindness? Practice being kind.
Want to feel loved? Practice Loving.

But discovering the profound effects of practice requires commitment.

Going to a class or sitting in meditation once in awhile is absolutely beneficial but just like all the other things that make life full, our practice should become a committed part of our day-to-day.

As some of you know, I have just begun my 200hr Kundalini yoga teacher training.
As part of the training, we have committed to three, yes three, 40 day sadhana's.

I am currently on day 10 of Kirtan Kriya.

This is a 30 minute meditation that cultivates greater wisdom, patience, communication skills, and transformation.

It has been a huge commitment for me!

I have had to wake up a lot earlier, sit for a lot longer than I normally do, and place trust in a mantra I am not used to or fully connect too.

I am not going to lie either...
It hasn't been easy BUT it has been worth it.

Commitment to our practice builds discipline, self-esteem, divine pride, and gives us the possibility to get closer to your Truth and Highest Self.

I believe in the power of commitment and daily practice with all my heart since taking on A Course in Miracles over a year and a half ago and continually seeing the benefits trickle in to my daily life.

So I suggest taking some time to consider when the last time you took on a commitment to your practice?

Start with 1 week if it's been a while.

Maybe that week is joining me in Nicaragua, practicing daily yoga, meditation, supporting those in need and realizing our Oneness.

Maybe it's one of my Ten Minute meditations you received for signing up for this Tribe.

Or, maybe it's simply making sure you take 5 minutes during your lunch break to take long, deep breaths.

If you have a daily sadhana, consider how you might challenge yourself this month to go deeper.

November tends to be when we get lax, let go of our intentions, easily fall off our 'yogic wagon'.

Instead, increase your power of commitment and take a vow, make a promise, to get to know your Highest Self more intimately.

This will only help you stay clear to your goals, realize your dreams, stand your ground, and get ready to be more conscious during the upcoming Holy Days.

Below are a few ideas that might help you develop the power of your Commitment:

1)Try 5 days of one of the Ten 10 Minute Meditations {Here}

2) Yoga. Action. Adventure. Retreat 7 Days of Yoga, meditation, selfless service {Here}

3) Sacred Movement Yoga Teacher Trainee's are in the middle of a 21 DaySadhana with the Gayatri mantra (Gayatri is the Goddess of Light + Life). You can join them in the journey using this mantra

4) 30 days of Inner Peace Meditation for at least five minutes
Yogi Bhajan, founder of Kundalini Yoga, says "we require the time to work out out our minds so that the rest of the day we can work out our lives."

So commit to working out your minds.
Commit to following through on your dreams.
Commit to doing your best to stay conscious.
Commit to experiencing your Oneness.

Blessings for a beYOUtiful week.
