The Science of Gathering Women
"Safe, healed, and whole. Spirit am I."

Next month marks my eleven year anniversary of teaching Yoga. The most important, and revelant, thing that has been ingrained in to my awareness over the past eleven years is how important community, connection, and connecting are to an individual's psyche and Soul. Accountability, vulnerability and witnessing are what I have come to observe as the main reasons women are healing and awakening. In my work specifically with women, I am finding that we are consistently believing we are alone though. Isolated in our struggles. Unsupported in the process. I see it over and over. Honestly, sometimes I feel it myself. I post something personal about my journey on social media, for example, and get overwhelming responses in gratitude or women feeling understood. This is because so many of us still feel separate. Alone. Yet, not only do I see it happen online, I see it more powerfully, the healing and transformation, when we are gathered together in person. Science shows us that we learn best in relationship to others, and in person. And, huge change happens when we are compassionately witnessed in our experiences. Our brains literally rewire when we are witnessed! We're not supposed to do this alone. We are wired to be communal--connection is essential for our thriving. It's time for you to be seen and rest into the support of other phenomenal women walking the path of Woman. Throughout history, women have gathered in sacred circle. Be it around a fire in prehistoric times, within monasteries of the Middle Ages, in consciousness-raising circles in 1970's, or online groups in the digital age, women have gathered to laugh, share, heal, care for children, grieve, and spiritually connect in community. Jungian analyst and writer Jean Shinoda Bolen, "When women come together and make a commitment to each other to be in a circle with a spiritual center, they are creating a vessel of healing and transformation for themselves, and vehicle for change in their world" I am witnessing it each week in the Weekly Ceremony classes. Movement, prayer, meditation, and connection are allowing us to feel, see, and hear more clearly with in our Selves and each other. It helps us to curb the loneliness and isolation, suspend judgement and criticism, and release the sense of separation and duality. These is a place where all parts of you are invited and celebrated, heal and empowered.
Won't you join us on this journey?
Hoping to bless you in person soon,
Megan
